Since it's already damaged down there by spray paint, I will likely finish the job and Bondo up the bottom and blend it into the rest of the spray paint. tested everything with a multimeter and I don't see any shorts where there shouldn't be and I don't see any opens where they shouldn't be. So I snipped off all the caps with a leg cutter, and tacked on a bunch of through hole caps because that's all I got.
